When I was a kid my mom convinced me that jackalopes were real, which was a problem when I lost a bet in college trying to defend what I was sure was the truth. Anyway, even if they’re not real I wish they were. I made mine extra imaginary and magical. Her name is Jill. No
A magical jackalope! I love it. 🙂
And your story reminded me of a similar story that my family told me – that my grandparents moved from Oklahoma Indian Territory to Oregon in a covered wagon. Years later, when they found out I still believed it, they thought it was pretty funny. They drove to Oregon in a car, long after OK had become a state. But it makes me wonder what other stories they told me that weren’t true. Did your mom have a tendency to make up stories, just for fun? 🙂
