Hi! Thank you, Jonni, for the amazing paper clay recipe and all the knowledge here, it’s been so fun exploring this medium. I primarily paint and draw but have been wanting to play around with sculpture for a while now. These are my first two experiments, meant to be displayed on the wall. I’m thinking I’ll hot glue popsicle sticks on the back of the cardboard cutout for future projects to try and control the warping, but I didn’t really mind it for these guys. I used an etching pen to clean up details on the gator (wearing a mask of course!) For hanging I used a bit of paper clay on the back to secure a soda tab, after my soda tab/hot glue attempt ended in a fallen unicorn and slightly exploded hoof. Anyway I’m obsessed! Excited to make many more paper mache creatures. 🙂

Hi Elli – I’m glad your unicorn survived his fall, because he’s really lovely. Both pieces show a lot of imagination – I can’t wait to see what you make next. 🙂
