I just finished “Jack” for the grandkids…they love it. Paper mache flour and water paste with the addition of paper clay. I did use cotton strips for the ridges. I probably would not have attempted this if I hadn’t become obsessed with Unhinged Creatures on YouTube. I’m going to try your water proofing suggestions next. I’ve also been making quite a few pumpkins.
I’m sorry, I just saw this…I unrolled cotton balls and glued (watery mixture of white glue and water) onto the pumpkin in layers.
Fun piece. You mentioned using cotton strips. Do you mean fabric?
