Made by Ali Little
My goal was to create the kind of mischievous demon character you might see peeping out of medieval marginalia, as a gargoyle, or in the background of a Bosch painting. Made over a plasticine base, using paper strips torn from an old children’s science book (discard pile at a charity shop), soaked in 50/50 PVA and water. Ears used cardboard and crumpled tin foil, and tusks were more crumpled tinfoil, covered and attached using more paper strips. Surprising how solid it all feels, and how light it is to wear.

I love it! Thanks so much for showing us your mask and telling us how it was made. The way you painted it is perfect for the subject, the earring was a great minor touch, and the photo is great. 🙂
