Spider Monkey swinging from her tail

Made by Joanne Bookmyer

I started with the head on this one, then made the arms and legs, and then finally made the body and tail to attach everything to. Not quite sure why but it seemed to work. It’s a mix of traditional and PM clay over a form of alum foil/wire. Acrylic paint and glass eyes. What I learned about Spider Monkeys is that they only have four full fingers on their hands. There is either no thumb or a vestigial. Mine has a bit of thumb – although I chopped off the ends of them once I discovered this unusual fact.
