skeleton experiment 1 – merman

Made by Joanne Bookmyer

There were lots of skeleton decorations in the stores for Halloween this year. I thought it would be fun to try using the skeleton as a form. This was my first attempt. I’m calling it a failure – largely because I was envisioning a mermaid but this fellow’s overdeveloped chest just wouldn’t cooperate. You can see I started working on his face but … he’ll probably go into the good effort but try again pile.

  1. Joanne, I’m so glad you tried this experiment, even if your first try didn’t turn out the way you wanted it to. I confess that I bought an artist’s figure armature years ago, and I’ve never used it because I couldn’t figure out how to make a sculpture with it without losing the expensive armature inside. I must have had it for ten years now, never used. Your skeletons are a much better idea for a cheapskate like me. 🙂
