Made by Jon Keller
I wanted to sculpt a “selfie” , but I also wanted it to be a little different …….. hence the rough composition .
This project was made with tissue paper , white glue and water .
It was painted with acrylic paints…..a brown basecoat with a gold topcoat .

Just discovered your work. Have been away from the site for quite a while. Love the nod to the Phantom of the Opera. Intentional or not its what I saw immediately when I saw this piece. Could be my partiality to the Phantom. My favorite musical.
This is TOO cool! It looks like something you would find on an archaeological site. Very creative!
Love the finish and the paint work, superb.
Love your composition! Impressive work!
I’ve always admired your work, Jon, and this one may be the winner thus far. The style, form, color, and texture are all compelling. There is so much captured here – much more than any photographic selfie, in my opinion.
Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you Lisa , I appreciate your comment.
I love the idea of a “selfie portait” made with paper mache. The gold finish is perfect for bringing out that texture, and the portrait itself makes me think there must be a very interesting story behind it. Great sculpture, Jon! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
