What was meant to be a simple addition to my son’s 4 yo birthday party, turned into a detailed art project for me and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome! I was under quite a time crunch as I only began working on it 4 days before his party, but I completed it and now hope to make the lion mask next! Once I started creating the “puzzle” frame work, I couldn’t stop! I did intentionally make the eyes bigger and more cartoon-like for my son. He named it Dumbo and wants it to be hung in his room. I do plan on washing over the ear folds and trunk with the acrylic liquid/burnt sienna to add some more dimension before hanging it in his room. Fabulous project and so much fun! Thank you so much!
What a wonderful elephant and idea for your son’s party. I hope you do more mâché and post it. Great job! Congrats!
I love the photo of your son with his party elephant. You did a great job on “Dumbo”!
What a lucky little boy you have! He’s going to treasure the memory – and that wonderful elephant, for a very long time. 🙂
I really like the bigger eyes – it makes the elephant perfect for a little boy’s room.
