Thanks for the comment Jonni. I cover the paper mache shape with a of PVA, water and dry wall filler mix. Then the hard work begins, lots of sanding. The last sanding with a very fine wet & dry paper but not using any water. The last thing is to paint it with a mix of PVA , water and talcum powder,it gives it a nice sheen and seals it as well.
John, the marbled look on your parrot is really interesting – it looks like polished stone. Do you have any tips for making a sculpture so smooth?
