Years ago I found this odd mirror at a second-hand store….tall, narrow…totally impractical in my opinion, but unique. So what the heck – at such a low price point, I bought it, figuring I’d use it in art someday somehow.
Finally did! Along came this “painting” gecko!
I knew I wanted him to be colorful and crazy, so I decided to do acrylic paint pour technique for his colors before attaching him to the mirror. Then it just seemed like a “must do” that he “drip” paint with every step he took, so….he does!
Hmmmm….maybe I should put a dropcloth under where the mirror is hanging! 🙂
Wow, a real conversation piece. I love the idea and all the color.
Thanks, Pat! He is certainly a fun guy, and a great way to use that second-hand mirror!
Wild and imaginative! Acrylic pours are fun aren’t they? Nice sculpture!
Thanks, Eileen!
Yes – I love the wild, organic “unknown” that paint pouring provides…it was perfect for this guy! 🙂
