over 5 feet tall and almost 100 pounds, me and my best friends built a ‘life sized’ statue of Mr Wobble for Cloud City Music Festival. He is the mascot of the group that threw the festival
His base is built around a wooden reinforced water heater box, with metal leg bases and PVC pipe for the arms. Paper grocery bags helped build out the form, duct tape to hold it all, and a few layers of paper before the paper clay layer. Then a thin gesso layer, paint, and HEAVY clear coat to try and protect it
He was built as a display for the festival, we submitted him and he was actually accepted and put on display! He was such a big hit, people came all day to take pictures with him and leave little gifts
He was actually built strong enough that people were sitting on his legs to take pictures and it didnt break! only underneath his foot broke from scraping on the ground, and his head got a little water damage from it snowing for 6 hours haha
Thank you for sharing all of your techniques, it was great learning from you I cant wait to make more

Wow – impressive! Thanks for letting us see it. 🙂
