I created four Minotaurs for PNOpera’s upcoming production of Handel’s Rinaldo. Minotaur’s are mythical, demonic creatures with the head of a bull and the body of a man. In the opera, the heroine is kidnapped by monsters enveloped in black smoke. These are our monsters. I bumped up the creepy factor by giving them red LED lights for eyes. I drilled a hole in the Styrofoam eye and inserted these small lights pictured below. I also put felt around the edges for comfort and hopefully, prevent slippage. We also created dragons and horses.
