We used your cow mask pattern as the starting point for the bull’s head on my son’s Minotaur costume. We modified the horns by sketching out the shape my son wanted on cardboard and then making the horns three dimensional with aluminum foil and attaching to the mask with hot glue. We made the cyclops mask by molding aluminum foil and tape to my son’s head for a base. We applied a few layers of paper mache over that. The masks fit my kids well and are easy to wear. The acrylic paint we used is shinier than I like and I might try to coat the masks with something to make them less shiny and more matte. Thanks for your patterns and tips!
I’ll bet those boys just loved those costumes! Now they have wall hangings for their rooms. Nice job. If you coat them with a matte varnish, that will dull them a bit, but won’t get rid of all the shine. I thought they looked great as is!
