Made by Joanne Bookmyer
This is the second marionette I’ve made, both using Jonni’s skull sculpting form printed at 40% (I love that pattern!).
It’s a little bit of everything underneath (wooden dowels, cardboard, alum foil, plastic sticks). The skin/clothes are a combination of traditional PM, blue paper towels, and PM clay. Instead of painting I used tissue paper which worked out really well.
I saw a suggestion online to apply it using acrylic paint thinner medium (instead of watered down Elmer’s glue). Worked great. The patterned paper is wrapping tissue that I got from the dollar store. The solid is craft tissue from Amazon. The wrapping tissue is just a little bit thicker and was much easier to apply. The flowers were made from colored stock paper that I then covered in tissue paper as well.

I love it, Joanne! She looks so much more stylish than I do when I’m out in the garden. 🙂
