I am becoming addicted to making “piggy” banks! I absolutely love the process of flour paste and paper strips, something very soothing about it has my complete attention. The Dino bank is for my Dino loving grandson who announced that he needed something to hide his “monies” in. Just finished the decoupaged pig and now I’m working on a cat bank. What next…?
I love your banks! I feel there is something soothing about the glue and paper strips too. Than is mostly how I work.
Carol,
I love your piggy banks. You did a grrat job making them. You inspired me to making one for my grandson. Very clever ideas! I really like Dino.
A hippo! That would give lots of room for the moneys! Your grandson will treasure his bank. Can you get the money out easily? Just curious…when I made one years ago, I used the top of a milk jug imbedded into the paper mache so you could get the money out without breaking the bank. Did you come up with a better idea?
I ordered some rubber plugs from statuaryplace.com. $1.25 a piece and they work great. The opening is about 1-1/4”, I think it’s the standard size. A hippo is a great idea! Just finished my cat and IMHO it’s stinking cute. ?
Carol, cute Dino and the way you’ve decoupaged the flowers and bees on your little piggy is really pretty.
Thank you very much!
