I used the fabulous donkey pattern to make a ‘hobby donkey ‘ for local school children to ‘ ride’ on in the Easter Experience at my church.
I used a ping pong ball for the eyes and attached the stick by putting a tennis ball on the end covering it with tea towels to wedge it snuggly into the head cavity – secured with gaffer tape and then paper mache’d and painted over the top – he is surprisingly sturdy – it was great fun to make 🙂
What a great idea, Becky! I’ll bet the kids loved it – and probably wanted to take it home. 🙂
