Harold the Giraffe

Made by Laura Richards

I had a lot of fun attempting Jonni’s pattern. I really wanted my giraffe to be solid so I covered it in alternating layers of plaster or Paris and joint compound mixture. Really happy with how it turned out. Not bad for the first time! Look forward to trying some Jonni’s other projects!

  1. G’day Joni,
I mixed up the paper mache recipie you have but with the products we have in Australia it turned out a bit Gloppy. So I just went with the plaster of paris and joint compound mixture. Was nice and smooth and solid. I got the idea from when I did the first step of putting the plaster of Paris inside the giraffe 🙂

  2. Hi Laura. Your giraffe turned out really nice! Did you use any paper mache at all, or just the plaster and joint compound? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone use those products that way before, and we’d love to know more. 🙂
