Hamster

Made by Rhonda

I made this as a going away present for a friend. Painted with acrylics, then sprayed with matte finish. Then gave the eyes two coats of clear nail polish. He’s about 3″ tall and was mounted on a skewer to make work faster. His base and his arms, and his treat are cereal box cardboard. His ears are just regular copy paper. I applied clay to the inside and let it dry before I did the outside. I’ve done many variations of Jonni’s Bluebirds over the years and this little guy kind of morphed from the same process.

    • Thank you, Rex. He is eating a pumpkin seed, but I couldn’t get the color right. The friend I made him for would roast pumpkins seeds this time of year for her hamster.

      • Ah, yeah. All right. That is a good story. I like your friend better already! Thanks. I haven’t had a pumpkin seed in twenty years!
