Giraffe with Chandelier

Made by Angie B

This was based on a lightning fixture created by a Milan based artist. I had to create two more pattern pieces to get a decent length, the chandelier was $40 on Amazon. After a lot of scientific thinking and creative mounting ideas, from flagpole holders, to picture frames I decided to just use wire to hang it on the wall, it is surprisingly light. I gessoed then painted it white but I really loved the joint compound stone look, either way it was extremely challenging, my first time making an animal with cardboard, using paper mache clay & doing anything like this!

  2. That’s brilliant! The giraffe’s face is beautifully rendered and you are the only person in the world with a giraffe chandelier. Congratulations!

  3. Hi Angie. What an interesting idea! I agree that the joint compound texture works really well on your giraffe. I would love to hear the comments you get when guests come to visit and see it for the first time. 🙂
