  1. It’s a great lion, Dawn – and your use of the brown paper to create rocks for his lair works really well. The mane and chin whiskers are really interesting – what did you use to make those? And is the body made with stuffed fabric? It looks really soft.

    • Thank you, Jonni. I started with your mask and I loved it so much it just kinda grew into a life sized piece! I used a very thick yarn for his mane (2 colors) and a regular white yarn that I pulled apart and kinda shredded for his chin whiskers. His actual whiskers are strands of burlap dipped in clear glue and dried. His body is same as mask, cardboard and tape with paper maché, with sturdy boxes as armature. Once I had 2 layers of paper maché I covered it with a thick felt material, then painted it and I added spots of tiny cut up “fuzz’ from a burlap sack.
      Now I just need a lamb to go with him! Thanks again for your feedback!
