This bird is part realism and part artistic license. I achieve balance by making big feet and tail feathers that touch down. The body is chicken wire so I can attach the legs thru the chicken wire and use wire and Magic Sculpt to make a strong contact. I’m sure I will do more birds as they are one of my favorite subjects.

Very clever little bird, how wonderful it would be to actually see something like this. I admire how smooth you were able to get the whole bird…at first i thought it was a metal sculpture!
Very unique! I like the form of the bird and how she is balanced to stand to support her weight. Her wispy feathers on the top of her head and the tail are very cool indeed! Nice job!
