Made by Kris Pratt
A Christmas gift for my nephew.
Has a wire armature, bulked and shaped with cardboard and aluminum foil. I left off the wings and claws then covered the body with paper mache clay. Smoothed with drywall joint compound and gesso. The claws I sculped out of white polymer clay and glued them in at the very end.
I cut out wing shapes from blue shop towels and glued them on with raw flour paste. While wet they fell naturally into folds and had a few wrinkles. When dry I brushed some homemade gesso over them.
Painted with acrylics, sealed with varnish.
The ‘fire’ on his tail is faux fur I wrapped around and hot glued on.
