This guy took a while. Started with using a plastic human skull that reminded me of a chimp face. I liked how that turned out so I decided to give him a body. A friend saw it at this stage and said the face was too human so I worked on him some more. Then I opted to use tissue paper to “paint” him using shades of brown but I really didn’t like how it turned out. So then I redid the tissue paper using mostly black with just hints of silver and brown plus some gold highlights (acrylic paint). There are so many layers of tissue paper that I should probably say it’s a decoupage project but there’s PM clay under there. The eyes are glass.

Hi Joanne – maybe you could call your technique “decoupage mache.” 🙂
He looks a lot like the monkey with a human face that was famous a few years ago in China. They both even have the same eyes. Fun!
