So these jacks have been sitting in my backyard over a year now. Because I used metallic paint, and you can’t use a sealer over metallic, I sealed the cement, and then painted them. The second picture shows the freshly painted jacks and the paint I used. As you can see, the paint didn’t stay nice, but the sealer beneath the paint is still there. The cement paper mache did fine under it. Hooray!

I think maybe trying the metallic in jar form rather than spray and mixing or coating with paver sealant might be stronger , maybe last longer. the jacks are great and the xperiment gives you info all good stuff. small amountsof mettallic acrylic coated in paver sealant or epoxy have held up fpr me pretty well: but only in detail accent areas , Havent used a lot of mettallic over a big surfaces. Merry Christmas , Happy Holidays and New year !
I used Ace Block Sealer and Filler, from Ace Hardware.
That’s good news, Rhonda. Great experiment! Can you remind us which sealer you used before painting the jacks?
