There is a 14th Century Haggadah manuscript from Germany that has the all the “human characters” with bird heads. This is a Hebrew text in the main art museum in Israel. This is my colorful interpretation. I used plaster gauze, then used Acrylic Gesso as a primer and the Acrylic paint.

Cary, your bird mask is lovely – if the fellows in the manuscript had such colorful masks, they they would have had a little more fun. Thanks for showing it to us, and for explaining the origin of the idea. Very interesting!
