I have trouble when making paper mache clay; it climbs up the beater on my mixer. I cut the two opposing paddles off. When I used two beaters the clay still climbed. So I just use one beater. I have only tested this one time and it seemed to work a little better. I have metal working equipment to cut off the paddles and to grind smooth. My mixer did not come with the bread hooks so I tried this method.

I have the same problem and no dough hooks!
How did you actually cut the off the beaters?
Also, did your mixer have to work much harder? I have a cheapie one haha
