And best of all – you can participate.
My daughter, Jessie Rasche, has just started a new project that I’m really excited about. She’s doing a series of small oil paintings, and she hopes to publish the best ones in a new book. All the paintings will show a baby or toddler sharing a loving moment with their mom – the painting below is the second one in the series. She’s asking for your help, because she needs photos to use as models – I’ll let her explain her project below…
Dear Jonni’s Readers,
I am really excited about my new “Mom Loving†portrait project: a series of at least 30 small paintings of moms loving and bonding with (nursing, sleeping with, snuggling, carrying, etc.) their babies and toddlers. I’ll choose the best of these paintings to be published together in an art book in 2011.
If you have a photo that you would like to have a “Mom Loving†portrait made from, or if you have a photo that you think would be great for this project, please email it to me. (And please forward this post if you have a friend who might be interested.)
The person submitting the photo will have first opportunity to purchase the painting, at a pre-set price (6×6 inches or 6×8 inches, $120 unframed / $150 framed). You can also suggest a short statement (around 35 words or less – or your names if you prefer) that you’d like to appear next to the painting when it’s published in the book and on my blog.
By submitting a photograph for this project, you’re agreeing that I will own the copyright on my paintings, but of course you will retain the copyright of your photographs.
These paintings will be in my style (impressionism / modern realism). You can see examples of my style in my Jessie’s Fine Art Blog.
Please comment on my blog with any feedback. If you’d like to participate and submit photos for this project, please use my contact form to let me know you’re interested, and I’ll send you my email address. If you have several photos from the same time, send them all – that makes it easier to paint. Thanks!
Thank you Jonni for giving me the opportunity to post this on your blog!
