Hi! I took the time this week to paint this baby Gorilla. I still have to do some touch-ups, but other than that, he’s finished. He was the last member of the “African” family that I had to make, so now the family is complete ๐
Hope you like it.

Lovely! Especially like the baby gorilla.
Your sculptures are fantastic. They look just like the real thing. Baby gorilla in the grass is absolutely wonderful. You are a great talent and inspiration to all paper mรขchรฉ makers!
Thanks you for your kind words, Pat.
Love your work youโre showing here. Youโre very talented. Anyone can see that! Thank you for sharing the pictures.
I absolutely love your baby gorilla. Thanks for sharing this beautiful African family. All three … just amazing!
All three are great pieces. I could use a gorilla on my lawn — it is about that tall! You are a wonderful artist and thank you for sharing these wonderful creations with us.
Next?
Thanks Rex ๐
I haven’t thought about what to do next. The upcoming months are quite busy ones for me (trying to finish my dissertation by September, which can be stressful at times).
I’m sure some crazy idea will come to mind, and when it does, I’ll post it here! ๐
Isis- he is fabulous! Actually, all three are fabulous! Well done but why are you stopping? There are a ton more of African animals to sculpt! Well done!
Thanks Eileen!
Those three will serve as decorations in our shop display, next summer. The space that we have in our shop (my parents’ shop actually) will be nicely filled with these three fellows, and some plants to create their ‘habitat’. But you’re right, Africa has a ton of beautiful and inspirational creatures to sculpt. So let me rephrase – this was the last one for now ๐
Isis, does your parents’ shop have a website? I know we’d all love to see how they look once the trio has been installed in their new home. And some of our readers might even live close enough to come see them in person (and maybe buy something. ๐ ). Is some of your work on display there now?
They do have a website, but it doesn’t feature my work (only the yummy stuff like our bread and pastries). I could take some pictures when they are installed and post it here. I usually take some pictures anyways – I have some of my carousel horse in the shop as well (I’m still quite proud of that one) ๐
At the moment, there is no work of mine on display. We have the European Football Championship this month, and then the Olympics, so we went full-out for a Belgian-themed display to support our Belgian Red Devils and our wonderful athletes ๐ … though now that I’m saying this I feel like I should have made the ‘Red Devil’ mascot… something to keep in mind for the next big championship ๐
