I used the baby elephant head pattern and covered the head in plaster cloth then I used DAS clay for the trunk and face. It will be a gift for my aunt. I love how this turned out.

I agree but is there some video cause I love elephants
We didn’t receive any videos from Melissa, but you can see the pattern she used here. That page also has some videos about adding paper mache clay instead of the plaster cloth that Melissa used, and how to add a crackle glaze that’s kind of fun.
Your baby elephant is wonderful!!! So much detail that is done perfectly. I love this baby elephant!!!
Oh my gosh Charlotte! This baby elephant is Adorable!!
How do you finish the back so you can hang it on the wall
I just put a hole in the back, near the top, and hang it on a nail.
Because I used the plaster cloth I didn’t use the back piece so I looped wire in both ear holes and just hung it from there.
Great idea!
It’s beautiful, Mellissa. You have a very lucky aunt. Does she have a lot of animal art in her house?
Thank you Jonni, she’s a painter and years ago she made a large elephant painting. She absolutely loves elephants and has a bunch of sculptures of them. The mask will be a nice addition
