I used the Scar template to design an Aslan headdress. Our homeschool co-op will get to reuse it for the production of the Wizard of Oz. I used Tite Bond wood glue as suggested and experimented with wool roving for the mane. Great pattern!
Hello! I am working on the lion mask, but I would like to have the eye covered for a wall hanging. Do you have a video on how to do that to a mask? Thanks
Hi Kadie. I do have a video on the Lion King page that shows how I add foam balls to make eyes. It’s in the first video on this page, and the eye part of the video starts at about the 6:00 mark. I hope you’re having fun making your lion! 🙂

Helen, your Aslan mask is beautiful! I love the way it’s painted, and his eyes – and that mane is amazing. It’s perfect for a lion. Are you a weaver, or did you find a place to purchase the wool roving? It’s a perfect color for him, too – did you dye it?
Thanks, Jonni! I had wool roving left over from a wet felting class. We had made landscapes, so I had a lot of browns to choose from! It held up surprisingly well. I used matte Rustoleum sealant as “hair spray”. We have an amazing second-hand craft supply store in town and I was able to find most materials there. But one day I’d love to have my own sheep and dye my own wool 🙂 Thanks again for another amazing pattern!
