I’ve made a number of rabbits and hares but this is my first tortoise. PM clay over alum. foil. Tissue paper “paint.” The fishing pole is a bamboo shoot from the backyard. There are a number of ceramic artists that make totem poles with animal figures (Alexis Moyer and Tracy Murphy are two of my favorites). I love this sculpture, Joanne! I’m always happy when I see a sculpture that tells a story, even if it’s a very short story – this time about a bunny sitting on a tortoise while ‘fishing’ for carrots. What fun!
