I used WED clay to sculpt face then applied paper mache over it. I used cereal boxes to make forms for the rays, covered with masking tape and vaseline and did paper mache over them. Hot glued together, smoothed joints with joint compound and air dry clay, used gesso, painted and used wood half spheres as accent! This website was invaluable. Thanks for the videos!
